Stage Router

19 inch dual band wireless router

Introducing Nowsonic Stage Router

The Stage Router is a unique Gigabit wireless LAN router which can be directly connected to any peripheral device like a digital mixer.

As the central link within the network on stage and in the studio, it connects digital mixing consoles with modern remote controls and reliably transmits audio and control signals. And of course, the Stage Router can be used for every other conceivable application in the network, too.

Thanks to the 19″ housing, the Stage Router can be easily mounted in any rack and then connected to a compatible digital mixer or any other network-capable device using standard CAT5 cables via five Gigabit Ethernet ports.

The Wi-Fi router provides a wireless LAN environment in the 2.4 GHz (802.11g) and/or 5 GHz (802.11n) frequency bands. Wi-Fi-enabled devices can be connected with a data throughput of up to 867 MBit/s.

Thanks to advanced MIMO technology, the Stage Router achieves higher data throughput and a greater range at the same time and supports the PPPoE, DHCP, and Static IP protocols for broadband operation. With the two receiving antennas for each band or the optionally available Stage Antenna Sets, the Stage Router Pro can be used as a true diversity system.

Wireless microphone paths can be operated in parallel without interference with the Stage Router in the 5 GHz band. Installation and startup are done via a web-based setup application that can be opened in any current browser, even on mobile devices.

Reviews

“In the endurance test with all available transmitters in the immediate vicinity – two commercially available WLAN routers in the 2.4 GHz band, a wireless microphone in the 1.8 GHz band and various smartphones in the immediate vicinity – the Stage Router did not let itself be upset in the slightest. Neither in operation with only one carrier frequency, nor in parallel operation with both carriers.”

“Nowsonic’s Stage Router is a coherent product that combines the benefits of a premium Wi-Fi router with the demands of robust, 19″-compatible stage equipment. While the device doesn’t really impact live sound, it does congenially expand the operational reliability and management of wireless networks in everyday stage use. Those who already call an iPad-based mixer with wireless operability their own should perhaps take a look to see if there isn’t still one HE free in the road case.”

“The Stage Router from Nowsonic is a perfect tool for anyone who needs an interference-free WLAN connection in their stage setup, and is probably pretty much alone on the market with it at the moment.”

“In the test, the Stage Router was set up in no time; the configuration pages, which are accessed via a PC connected by cable, are clear and provide easy access to the many functions. […] Once in operation, the Stage Router proves to be a reliable tool that can be recommended to anyone who needs reliable WLAN connections on stage.”

“All in all, the Nowsonic Stage Router represents an interesting tool for the modern stage. […] The device is definitely worth its price in terms of features and functionality.”

“The setup is very user-friendly, the measurement values very good, the interfaces above average. A clear recommendation as soon as it comes to wireless communication at the Venue.”

“With the Stage Router, Nowsonic has developed a novel tool for professional live engineers. Here, the stable device is recommended not only for speakers and PA controllers, but especially for digital mixing consoles that are controlled remotely via tablet. The Stage Router is also ideally suited as a strong WLAN repeater as well as a VPM server – and that over a long service life.”
